Walk for Wishes - Supporting Make A Wish Foundation Fundraiser

Hanson & Doremus has made a generous donation to Walk for Wishes Vermont.

Walk For Wishes® is a nationwide Make-A-Wish® fundraiser that celebrates the thousands of wishes that have already been granted, while raising funds for future wishes. Participating or supporting this walk helps bring the life-changing impact of a wish to children battling life-threatening medical conditions in our community.  

Balé Folclórico da Bahia at the Flynn Theatre

In January of 2017, Flynn Theatre in Burlington presented Balé Folclórico da Bahia in cooperation with sponsorship from Hanson & Doremus Investment Management.

"With raucous energy and rich pageantry, Balé Folclórico da Bahia bring to life the colorful palate of Bahia, a region of northern Brazil influenced by myriad cultures.

From Samba to Capoeira (an Afro-Brazilian art form that combines martial arts and dance), this troupe of over 30 exuberant performers fills the theater with thrilling folkloric choreography, explosive percussion, and joyous song." 

Hanson & Doremus Supports Meals on Wheels

Hanson & Doremus is pleased to be a Silver Sponsor of the March on Wheels campaign through Age Well.   

Too many Vermont seniors are left behind, alone and hungry, struggling to stay independent and healthy. In 2017:

     ● 42,112 are living in or near poverty

     ● 39,866 are isolated, living alone

     ● 20,356 are threatened by hunger

Throughout the month of March, hundreds of Meals on Wheels programs across the country reach out to their communities to establish a network of support that will enable them to serve America’s seniors all year long. As the largest Meals on Wheels provider in Vermont, Age Well oversees more than 60 routes, serving over 225,000 meals each year. A volunteer staff of 350 drivers, deliver meals to seniors every day of the week.

Hanson & Doremus Relay Team Finishes in Top 30% on May 24, 2015

The Vermont City Marathon & Relay is a USATF certified course and starts at Battery Park overlooking Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains. The opening miles are run through tree-lined residential streets and Burlington’s pedestrian Marketplace where enthusiastic spectators cheer. On the Northern Connector there are beautiful views of the Green Mountains At the half-way point of the course, runners enter Oakledge Park and run alongside Lake Champlain. The finish and all post-race festivities occur in Waterfront Park where there are thousands of cheering spectators.

The 3-5 Person Relay allows 3, 4, or 5-member teams to divide the full Marathon distance into smaller segments, ranging from 3.1 to 6.5 miles. Congratulations to the Hanson & Doremus team who finished in 213th place, in the upper 30% of their relay field! The team sponsored and raised money for the non-profit Food4Farmers.

CALCPA's Peninsula Silicon Valley Chapter Mixer

Hanson & Doremus sponsored CALCPA's Peninsula Silicon Valley Chapter ABC Mixer (for Attorneys, Bankers, CPAs, and other financial professionals) at the Hiller Aviation Museum in San Carlos.  The event raises funds to present scholarships to peninsula area students and gives local professionals the chance to network.  Eric, Anne, and Julie all attended.

Anne Doremus Coaches University of Vermont Graduate Student Team

 Anne Doremus was a coach for the Family Enterprise Case Competition sponsored by The University of Vermont on January 7-9, 2015. Twenty-four student teams from India, Malaysia, Chile, Saudi Arabia, France, Sweden, and the USA presented their business case model writing and analysis.
